施承澤 SHIH Cheng-ze
州羅徹斯特理工學院的美國工藝家學校（Rochester Institute of Technology, School for American Crafts）專攻金屬雕塑。2001年取得美術創作碩士學位MFA後，隨即擔任美國著名金屬雕塑家Albert Paley的助手以學習更多的實務經驗。2002年在累積了充分的專業質量後，決定返臺參與國內的公共藝術與金屬雕塑創作。2003年於韓國江陵市的一次藝術駐村，結識了同樣自北藝大畢業的裝置藝術家黃沛瀅，兩人於2005年在臺北結縭並成立彤繡工坊及朋淇藝術有限公司（2011-），持續專注耕耘臺灣公共藝術的多元創作，迄今已完成國內外50餘件公共藝術作品的設置。執業期間，施承澤又在浙江杭州中國美術學院的雕塑與公共藝術學院博士班進修，並於2015年順利通過答辯取得藝術學博士學位Ph. D。目前，施承澤與黃沛瀅及一對雙胞胎兒子生活與創作在桃園。
Autobiography of Cheng-ze Shih
Cheng-ze Shih was born in 1972 and grew up in Lu-kang Town, Chang-hua County, Taiwan, which was a district prospered with traditional folk arts and crafts. He was so fascinated by those ancient temples, paintings, ceramic and wood figures that motivated him to pass a special test for a fine art class in an elementary school in the capital, Taipei. Following the fine art class in junior and senior high school, Cheng-ze studied at Taipei National University of the Arts for a 5 years B.F.A. program and graduated as a Sculpture-major in 1996.
After 15 years fine art school training and widely exploring in the area of arts, Cheng-ze was confirmed the passion to the creation of form. In order to become a professional metal sculptor, after 2 years army service in duty, he studied abroad at School for American Crafts, Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, U.S.A., and majored in Metal Sculpture. After graduating with a Master of Fine Art degree in 2001, Cheng-ze worked for Albert Paley, a professional metal sculptor in New York, as an assistant to learn more technology and practical experience. In 2002, after well prepared, Cheng-ze Shih decided to come back to the artist’s hometown, Taiwan, to begin his professional career. In 2005, he met his wife, Pei-ying Huang, an installation artist, and set up their company, J&Rose Studio, in Taipei City. Furthermore, in 2015, Cheng-ze Shih obtained his Art Ph. D. from China Academy of Art, China. Now, they lives in Taoyuan City, and engages in the both areas of metal sculpture and public art.
